I had no path or plan before Intermission Youth. I had friends and family in and out of jail, I come from areas where it’s eat or be eaten. I also have a severe skin condition called atopic dermatitis from my head to literally my toe which only kept getting worse. I had no clue what I was gonna do with my life, I went back to college at 18 after possibly the worst moment in my life – I lost someone I called big bro!
I was confused with what my future career was gonna be stressing myself out causing my skin to get worse.
I had made a friend in college who never really took it things seriously but one thing he did take seriously was IntermissionYouth which made him take college a bit more seriously too. He had told me to apply for the youth theatre programme, so I did.
It wasn’t easy because my skin was at its worst but the Intermission Youth team made it easy to work around it. I never left my comfort zone during the workshop sessions. I wasn't really speaking to anybody except my boys, and I was so reserved, people thought I wasn’t even there. It wasn’t until I was separated from my boys during summer school that I was able to talk and work with others that I hadn’t got to work with before. I even lost my job during the rehearsal times because I chose IYT and I have no regrets because I didn’t see myself as a waiter for the rest of my life.
Not only did Intermission Youth enable me to do my first stage performance but I was also in I had no path or plan before intermission, I have friends and family in and out of jail, I come from areas where it’s eat or be eaten, and have a severe skin condition called atopic dermatitis from my head to literally my toe which only kept getting worse. I had no clue what I was gonna do with my life, I went back to college to college at 18 after possibly the worst moment in my life of yet and losing someone I called big bro on top of that, confused with what my future career was gonna be stressing myself out causing my skin to get worse.
